Frequently Asked Questions

Can you undertake re-designs of existing websites and how much would it cost?

Yes, the cost is the same for both new and re-designed websites. If you are looking for a fresh new look to your businesses online presence then give me a call.

How do you manage to keep the costs of building a website so low?

I have no designers, coders, sales executives or directors to pay - all of the work is mine. I rely heavily on word of mouth advertising as I believe this is the best way of proving the quality of my work.

Do you use templates or are the websites individually created?

I design the graphics and create layouts according to your requirements. If, however, you are looking for a flash based website at a similar price to a HTML coded site I will be able to create one for you using a template. Custom designed flash website are available , however, these will cost more.

Why don't you create a flash website as standard?

Flash is a great coding platform however, it does suffer from several major drawbacks. The loading time for a flash intensive website will be quite long and they do not tend to be liked by search engine spiders. This will make getting a good placement on a search engine difficult and will also potentially lose clients due to the length of download times.

What are the benefits of the small business monthly payment plan?

In business cash flow is one of the most important things. You basically spread the cost of the website creation and also have the ability to have regular updates and maintenance for free. If you pay up front you still have to lay out for domain name registration, hosting and updates.

Who owns the copyright for the sites you design?

The copyright is held by me, however, you are able to obtain the copyright providing all fees for the completion of the website have been paid. For the monthly payment plan this equates to 24 payments.

When would I have to pay for the website?

A small deposit (usually £30 - £50) is taken to cover initial set up. Payment of the remainder is only required on completion and acceptance by you, the client. Payment may be requested before completion if the client is slow supplying texts, graphics or any other files however this will only be done when the client is satisfied with the draft version of the website.

Can you create e-shops and online databases?

Yes I can. All work is considered and costs will reflect the workload involved. I am also able to create blogs, photo albums and content managed websites.
