Pipex occupies three core network locations in London Docklands in facilities that maintain the highest degree of security, air conditioning and power availability. These locations provide our connection to other Internet Service Providers (ISPs) via a UK Public Peering presence at LINX and Xchangepoint. Pipex maintains a European public peering presence at AMSIX, DECIX and SFINX and also makes the best use of global reach IP with selected international partners.
The national network is comprised of a national optical switched, MPLS enabled backbone linking the Pipex data centres in Manchester, Leeds and London to our Internet transit and peering points of presence in London and Manchester. Each data centre has a choice of targeting one of the three London sites for access to the Internet. Consequently, in the event of a problem in any of the London sites, Internet connectivity will be maintained.
The network is managed and monitored 24/7 via a team of accredited, experienced and customer-focussed engineers.
