Search Engine Optimisation
I build basic search engine optimisation techniques into every commercial website I create.
The following optimisation methods are used:
- Search Keywords are added to:
- The title tag
- The keyword meta tags
- The first 25 words of copy
- Text near the end of the document
- The website is designed so that the headline tags are visible to the search engines at the top of the page rather than after a graphic bar.
- Graphics are given keyword orientated titles
- The graphic <alt> tags are given appropriate keyword orientated descriptions.
I do not guarantee #1 ranking as this is now a very hard thing to achieve especially on Google. Search engines have drifted away from solely using on-site SEO techniques and now rely heavily on off-site techniques such as link listings (e.g. how many other quality sites link to yours).
Many search engine optimizers use techniques that eventually lead to the site being banned on the search engine or get top placing by using obscure search keywords. I attempt to keep all of my search engine optimisation techniques in line with the search engine guidelines.

The number of clicks on your site should not be the only thing you care about. It is the quality of the hits that is important.
10,000 hits per day by people who aren't interested in your services or products
is worse than 10 hits per day from people who are.
I am able to undertake specific search engine optimisation such as keyword analysis and copy rewrite in order to ensure that you are getting hits from the people who will buy from you. My fees for these services depend upon the level of work involved for your tailored solution.
Should you wish for your site to be submitted to the major search engines then I will happily undertake this task for you. As several of the larger search engines now charge a fee for listing, the price for this work will be negotiable depending on which search engines you require targetted. I do not use automatic submittal software as this now results in the sites being banned by some of the major search engines.
Search engine optimisation can be undertaken for existing websites, however as this invariably results in major alterations to the web design, the work involved is reflected in the price for this service. Often it is harder to redesign a site to include good search engine optimisation principles than create a whole new site.
